The Purity Myth.

If you’re a female this should concern and frighten you in a big way.

Without women, there would be no men.  Literally.  But that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s perfectly okay to go sleeping about.  Have integrity and self respect; think before you act.  It’s possible to believe in purity and progression.  Holding onto purity doesn’t require domesticity.

Both of the arguments in this video are extreme.  Find balance.  Balance is progression, not domesticity or feminism.  Respect both sexes, and above all, respect people, yourself as well as others.

It actually does mean it’s perfectly okay to go “sleeping about.”  Cause, guess what, my sex life and the sex lives of other women are… wait for it… NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

It’s perfectly possible to respect yourself and be sexually active.   It’s perfectly possible to respect yourself and not be sexually active.  It’s really impossible, however, for you to respect me and other women as people and dictate what type of sex life we are “supposed” to have.

“There are people who have said that I’m being brave for being openly supportive of gay marriage, gay adoption, basically of gay rights but with all due respect I humbly dissent, I’m not being brave, I’m being a decent human being. And I don’t think I should receive an award for that or for merely stating what I believe to be true, that love is a human experience not a political statement. However, I acknowledge that sadly we live in a world where not everybody feels the same. My family and I will help the good fight continue until that long awaited moment arrives, when our rights are equal and when the political limits on love have been smashed.”

So, for a package that I am sending to this pretty miraculous person that I am crushing on a little bit, I drew this on the envelope. What do ya think? Awesome? Awful? Just kinda okay?

If it were possible in the human languages to explain how much I love this part, I would.
